Prevent Blindness Benefit at the Uptown Marble

An intimate evening with john Arthur martinez and Mike Blakely to benefit Prevent Blindness Texas

Austin, TX (September 25, 2008) – Prevent Blindness Texas is pleased to present Vision of the Songwriter featuring john Arthur martinez and Mike Blakely on Sunday, October 19, at 2:30 pm at the Uptown Marble Theater in Marble Falls, TX. This performance will benefit Prevent Blindness Texas whose sight saving programs have been serving Texans since 1956.

The mission of Prevent Blindness Texas is to prevent blindness and preserve sight for all Texans through free programs. Serving more than 150,000 Texans each year, these programs are made possible through the eleven branches throughout the state. The Austin branch serves 20 counties in central Texas.

Join us for a unique and relaxing afternoon of storytelling and music directly from the songwriters themselves. Hear them talk about their music, where it comes from, and learn the private stories behind their most popular songs. You will hear their music in a completely new light. Our hope is that as john Arthur martinez & Mike Blakely share their music, a vision will be cast to which our collective efforts can and will change the world. The gift of sight can forever change a life. You can be a part of that!

In addition to this up close and personal performance, we will also enjoy refreshments and a live auction by auctioneer, Glenn Love, Jr. of Live Oak Realty and Auction in Goldthwaite, TX.
