Last Saturday the Bulldog Band and Highlandettes Drill Team (otherwise known as the BHS Esprit de Corps) competed in the UIL Region Marching Contest held at the Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex. Burnet was selected as the last group to perform. When the show was finished Burnet received straight First Division ratings from all the judges.
Now the Esprit de Corps advances to UIL Area Marching Contest this Saturday in Georgetown. This is a prelims and finals event. There will be at least 26 performing groups in 3A. Burnet will be competing against all of these for the right to advance to State Marching Competition!
We need everyone that is able to go to Georgetown next Saturday and cheer us on to victory! Directors will draw for performance times and order Tuesday at 1:30 in Buda. We’ll announce the performance time later in the afternoon.
Please make plans to come out for a great day of marching, dancing and musical performance! That’s this coming Saturday in Georgetown.
